The Dash story began long ago as an idea, and The Academy became a reality in 2015.  For the past 2 decades, Dean Sheppard and Tamara Dyer-Sheppard have been working together in a variety of professional capacities.  Upon completing graduate school they joined their family in the automotive recycling business.  After growing and selling those companies, they branched into the construction industry with CastleWorks Construction Inc., specializing in custom homes, commercial structures and property management.   Throughout it all, they have been teaching.  While in graduate school at MIT Dean had opportunities to work alongside several professors of Engineering and Management as a Teaching Assistant, He has since worked as a contract corporate trainer specializing in Project Management.  Tamara studied Business Education specializing in Adult and Continuing Ed in graduate school and taught as a adjunct faculty member at Fisher College. More recently focusing on professional development and corporate training.

Dash Academy is a team.  We collaborate with industry and teaching professionals to bring you game-changing corporate training.  Our facilitators combine subject matter expertise, education, research, and round-the-world experience to create courses that are interesting and practical.

Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering— MIT
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering— MIT
Aeronautical Engineering Technology Diploma—SAIT

Hi I'm Dean,

As a Project Management Professional (PMP) and corporate trainer, I have taught Project Management and Leadership in both academic and corporate settings to thousands of students worldwide.  Additionally, I have managed multi-million dollar projects in the fields of construction and automotive recycling.  Before doing this though, I went to school for a very long time.  First, I earned a diploma in Aeronautical Engineering Technology, then I went on to get 3 degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Then, I completed my coursework toward a PhD in Project Management from the University of Calgary.

Okay, so that's the boring stuff, what I really like to do is collect and tinker with vintage and unique vehicles--presently I am restoring 3 old Porsches and have just completed a '61 Vespa.  Recently, I have taken up tennis and golf (I guess that happens when you turn 50) and, when I can get away, you'll find me skiing in the Rocky Mountains or on a scuba diving vacation with my family.  To learn more about us, check out our Dash Academy website.

Enough about me, now let's go learn some Project Management.
